Covid-19 Updates

May 16th:

Dear Fellow Square Dancers:
With March, April and now May coming and going without dancing, who would have ever thought a virus could take down this country. I, like a lot of you, have lost track of the day, let-alone which month it is. Soon with some luck and social distancing we will be back with our family and friends dancing and swapping stories of this crazy time. But until then we need to work our way through the different phases of this pandemic.

Idaho has moved faster than Washington so here is an opportunity to dust off your dancing shoes. The HooDoo Valley Hoedowners are hosting the “Dance on the Water”,June 19-20 in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. If you interested please contact Kari Franks at 208-
704-9760.

I also encourage everyone to check out the new Spokane Area Council website at squaredancespokane.org . Some areas are still under construction but please take the time and check it out. This is also where we will be posting up dances as soon as we know about them. Until we get to hear “Bow to your Partner” we wish everyone good health and happiness.
Sincerely,
Kelly & Gary Hoff
Presidents of Spokane Area Council

March:

Dear Fellow Square Dancers:

After much consideration, phone calls and people’s input, the Spokane Area Council cannot tell individual clubs what to do or how their club will operate. But at this time, with all activities shutting down advised by the government, I am advising clubs to postpone all activities till the end of March. At that time, we can reevaluate the situation and hopefully start dancing again.

Please take care of yourselves, family and have empathy for our community members.

Sincerely,

Kelly & Gary Hoff

Presidents of Spokane Area Council
