Spokane Area Council Presidents Message September 2010 Hi to you all well I think summer has finally come to the Walker home and to the rest of your homes as well.  I do not have much to say but did find a response on Face book by Diane Hartley and she did repost this and so I am also posting I think that it is very true. There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all the pointless drama and people who create it... and surround yourself with people who make you laugh so hard that you forget the bad.. and focus on the good ... life is too short to be anything but happy... repost this if you ......agree...I...just did. Have a great summer and we will see you on the dance floor this fall. We have again lost dedicated square dancers and they will be missed but not forgotten for all they have given to the activity.  Carl Knapp a very dear friend has been called to the great square dance in the sky and we will miss him.  I have been asked  by Helen his wife to insert this thank you and I do so with much thanks to Helen and Carl for all they have done for square dancing and myself over the years.  Thank you Carl and Helen. Happy dancing and don't forget the Salmon Bar B Que Spokane Area Council President Couple Jerry and Molly Walker   No words can describe the feelings of appreciation and thankfulness to all the Square dance Clubs for the support I received at the funeral and the benefit dance held for us.  I appreciate this more than you will ever know.  It was hare to lose Carl but with support like I have received from the square dancers, the hard task will be made easier.  Thank You All from the bottom of my heart! Spokane Area Council Presidents Message Summer 2010 Well it is that time again so here goes.  A special thanks to all who helped make the State meeting a huge success and thanks to all dancers who came out and supported the WDA Anniversary dance and made it such a huge success. Information on Green Sheet and Ad Sheet: At the general meeting May 2nd a motion was made that starting with the September newsletter that all information for the green sheet and the ad sheet will be due on the 1st day of the month rather then the 10 of the month this will allow more time to be sure that all is correct.  So starting August 1st all green sheet and ad sheet information will be due for the September newsletter.  Then all of that information will be due the 1st of the month for all future newsletters. Council renewal forms: Please get your renewals to the Council in as soon as possible as the information that you supply will be used to update the footnotes state directory, if you are late getting this in most likely you will not get updated in the directory.  Do not wait tell the last minute get it in now and please type the information as it much easier to read and less likely to have mistakes while trying to decide what is actually printed in your renewal.  Thanks for your attention in this matter. May 5th Saturday Council Dance: Don’t forget the Council Dance May 29th 5th Saturday which is to be at the NSDA Hall Plus starting at 7 PM followed by Mainstream at 8 PM, so come out and support your council dance.  Callers Bob Amsbury and Vern Boggs, Cuers Claudia Amsbury and Kathy Boggs it will be a great dance come join us. Standing Rules: To all clubs we will be sending out the recommended Standing Rules that the board has finally put together for your approval at the September General Meeting which is scheduled for September 12th 2010 at 3 PM see you all there.
