Spokane Area Council Presidents Message  March 2010 Well it is that time again and I have nothing written on the paper and what's worse not much to say.   It will be short for sure this time.   Remember February 12 2nd Friday dance.  Remember this is Footnotes dance and will be called by all Callers and Cuer's so come on out to the Western Dance Center at 8 PM and support the Footnotes dance here you will be able to subscribe to the State Square Dance Magazine (Footnotes) and get to have an evening of Square Dance fun.   Don't forget the Spokane Area Council meeting March 14 at 3 PM at the Western Dance Center.  Election of officers will happen at this meeting.   We had a great 5th Saturday dance on January 30 with Ed Holyoke and Nina Leisi what a great crowd and everyone was smiling and dancing up a storm.  So remember these are your 5th Saturday dances so why not come on out and join in the fun.   Molly and I hope to see you on the dance floor real soon. Spokane Area Council Presidents Message February 2010 Well it is that time again and I have nothing written on the paper and what's worse not much to say. It will be short for sure this time. It is time for all of us to remember where we began in the square dance movement and that is in a mainstream class and then joined a mainstream club. Let us not forget that regardless of where we are today. If we do not support the mainstream club dances and that part of the movement dies it will not be long before it all dies so let's all support the mainstream dances and have fun with what we started with.  Now for February 12 2nd Friday dance. The account number is H6BD. To donate blood, just let the blood bank know that the Square Dance account is to be credited with your donation. To get blood from the account, they (or you, I'm not sure which) must contact the Vice President, This year it is me, Ed Ruescher, (208) 664-9820, and let him or her know your name , home address and the amount of blood needed.. The Vice President will then authorize the release of the blood. In order for the Vice President to verify that the requestor is a member of a square dance club, that person must be listed on some club's roster. So make sure that everyone in your club is listed. When new members are added make sure that the Vice President is notified so that their name(s) can be added to the list
